Points of Pride
Mesa Vista Elementary School is a small gem located in El Paso's lower valley. Since excellence is our priority, our students are held to high standards. We are known for our consistency in following the 3 B's: Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible. We are proud to be in the Bel Air feeder pattern, as our students will continue to be future Warriors at the new Bel Air Middle School and Highlanders at Bel Air Highschool.
We are the first school to have an annual PBIS Behavior Bowl (held in January) and PBIS March Madness (held in March) competitions. These competitions consist of students competing within their grade levels and the winning teams get a chance to represent their grade level in the final event, while the entire school cheers them on. All students who participate must show their consistency in following the three B's throughout the year.
The Ysleta Independent School District's recent Engage Me! initiative has provided all of our 3-6th grade students a chromebook that will be used to provided extended learning for our students, helping to prepare them with essential 21st century skills.
Welcome to the leopard family! Once a leopard, always a leopard!
Engage Me! Student Laptops
We are excited to announce that all students in grades 3rd-6th will be receiving student laptops to use in the classroom and take home to extend their learning. In order to be allowed to take their laptops home, parents must sign a device agreement online through Parent Portal. If you need assistance with signing up for Power Parent, please see Ms. Azcarate, our innovative technology support teacher, before or after school. Parents must also attend a parent information session.
The first Engage Me Parent Information sesssion will be held Thursday, September 1st from 5:00-6:00 pm in the school cafeteria.
Meet the Teacher: Welcome Night!
Thursday, August 25th, we would like to welcome you to a new school year and provide the opportunity to meet your child's new 2016-2017 teacher. We will begin with a brief introduction by our principal, Mrs. Karns, in the cafeteria at 5:00 pm. Then, we will break out into two sessions in the teacher's rooms from 5:30-6:00 pm and 6:00-6:30 pm.
